Principal's Message Home
Welcome, Springer Families!
I’m Sundae Ray, proud principal of Highland Springs Elementary School!
With nearly two decades of experience in education, I am honored to serve the amazing students, families, and staff of this community as we Spring to Success...The Springer Way!
Before joining Highland Springs, I served as an Assistant Principal in Richmond City Public Schools at Ginter Park and Oak Grove–Bellemeade Elementary, where I focused on driving student achievement, implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), and coaching teachers to excellence. Prior to that, I worked in Chesterfield County Public Schools as a Special Education Coordinator/Administrator at Hening Elementary, a Division Literacy Specialist, and a Special Education Teacher at Manchester Middle School.
Across every role, my mission has remained the same: to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child feels valued, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
I believe in building strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and in making data-driven decisions to support both academic success and social-emotional growth.
This school year, I look forward to partnering with you to ensure our Springers feel empowered to soar. Together, we will continue to build a school community where kindness, curiosity, and excellence thrive.
Let’s make this year our best year yet—Go Springers!
~Principal Sundae Ray 💛🖤
